Senior Accountant – Public Practice
Location: Victoria, Vancouver, or Remote (within Canada) | Full-Time
Salary: $80,000–$120,000 annually, depending on experience
We’re currently recruiting on behalf of a growing public accounting firm with offices in both Victoria and Vancouver. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join a collaborative team that’s committed to delivering exceptional client service and practical business advice.
About the Role:
In this role, you’ll work alongside a Partner and senior team members to support a range of privately held clients across a variety of industries. You’ll be involved in corporate and personal tax compliance, financial reporting, and advisory projects, including corporate reorganizations and tax planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and/or review compilation and review engagement files
- Prepare and/or review financial statements and corporate income tax returns
- Prepare and/or review personal and trust income tax returns
- Support clients with accounting and bookkeeping needs
- Prepare and/or review GST and other regulatory filings
- Work closely with internal teams and directly with clients
What We’re Looking For:
- CPA designation (or working toward designation)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in public practice
- Experience with corporate and personal tax compliance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- A genuine commitment to client service and working collaboratively with others
Preferred Experience:
- Proficiency with accounting and tax software such as CaseWare, TaxPrep, QuickBooks Online, or SAGE
- Experience working with owner-managed businesses
- Bookkeeping experience is a plus
Work Arrangement:
This position can be based in Victoria or Vancouver, but remote or hybrid arrangements are available for the right candidate, depending on location and experience.
