Manager, Assurance & Audit

Location: Courtice, ON and Peterborough, ON (Hybrid work available)

Salary: $90,000–$120,000, depending on experience

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We’re recruiting a Manager, Assurance & Audit on behalf of a well-established public accounting firm with a strong local presence and national resources. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced CPA who thrives in a collaborative environment and is looking to take the next step in their leadership journey.

In this role, you’ll lead assurance engagements, support the development of junior team members, and work closely with partners to deliver exceptional service to a diverse client base.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Leading the planning, execution, and completion of audit and review engagements
  • Managing project financials, including budgets, WIP, and billing
  • Providing ongoing coaching, mentorship, and training to staff during fieldwork
  • Reviewing personal, corporate, and not-for-profit tax returns
  • Assessing risk and controls to provide actionable recommendations
  • Reviewing financial statements and note disclosures for compliance with standards
  • Building strong relationships with clients and identifying additional service opportunities
  • Collaborating across teams to deliver integrated client solutions
  • Supporting firm-wide training and contributing to a positive, people-first culture
  • Participating in business development activities and helping grow the firm’s client base

What We’re Looking For:

  • CPA designation with at least 5 years of public practice experience
  • Minimum 2 years in a leadership or management role within a CPA firm
  • Experience working with owner-managed businesses and private enterprises
  • Proven ability to lead audits efficiently and effectively
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting and auditing standards
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Confidence managing deadlines, budgets, and team expectations
  • A passion for mentoring and developing others
  • Familiarity with Caseware, Taxprep, QuickBooks, and MS Office
