Senior Accountant
Locations: Lindsay, ON & Peterborough, ON (Hybrid work available)
Salary: $65,000–$85,000, based on experience
Type: Full-time, Permanent
We’re currently recruiting a Senior Accountant on behalf of a highly respected public accounting firm with offices in Lindsay and Peterborough. This is a great opportunity for a CPA—or CPA in progress—who enjoys working in public practice and is looking for a role that offers variety, mentorship, and long-term growth.
The ideal candidate is confident handling audit and assurance files, comfortable managing client relationships, and enjoys being part of a collaborative, people-first culture.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Leading and supporting audit, review, and compilation engagements
- Preparing corporate, personal, and trust income tax returns
- Preparing tax slips (T3s, T4s, T5s, etc.)
- Identifying and resolving engagement issues
- Assisting with year-end planning
- Developing strong client relationships
- Providing guidance to junior team members and coordinating fieldwork
- Collaborating with colleagues to deliver integrated business solutions
What We’re Looking For:
- CPA designation or CPA in progress
- 3+ years of public practice experience, including at least 2 years of audit and assurance work
- Strong technical skills in audit, accounting, and tax
- Experience with Caseware, Taxprep/iFirm, Keystone, or QuickBooks is an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management skills and the ability to juggle competing deadlines
- A team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude
- Interest in mentoring others and contributing to a supportive team environment
